Flavor of the Week...

It's amazing to me how the music industry works. I know that they usually start off a single in a big town and then it slowly works it's way across the country. A song can be a hit in California or New York for weeks, maybe months, before I've even heard of it. At least that's what I think...I may be wrong.

Anyway, I am just learning of a guy out there that I'm in love with. Bryan happened to catch him on CMT of all things - he's not a country singer. He went out and bought his CD and I'm hooked already. His name is Marc Broussard and he is so soulful (& yummy!). I love finding new music out there, and now I'll probably listen to his CD about 80 times and then go and by his other one. How can it be that this guy has two CD's out and I've never heard of him? Oh well, just wanted to share. Every song on his "Carencro" CD is totally different, and that is one of the things that I love about him. However, I do feel that you will either love him or hate him. Here's some lyrics from a couple of my faves:
THE BEAUTY OF WHO YOU ARE
There's a soft sweet space on the back of your neck
Smells like rain
There's a way you look at me baby
Heals my pain
I've studied every inch of your body
Baby what's on your mind
The touch of your skin just pulls me in
Every single time
There's a slight conversation
Filled with hidden revelations in your eyes
[CHORUS]
Baby I'm so into you
Every whisper from your soul to my heart
Baby I know its true
You're a sweet little mystery sent to me from the stars
And that's the beauty of who you are
There's a faith you're savin' for a rainy day
I could use right now
There's a way you move my soul to sing
Only you know how
You are a sensual salvation
You're the holiest temptation
Baby I'm never, never, never gonna be the same
[Chorus]
I can't explain it or begin to conceive
All I know is that you make me believe
[Chorus]
LET ME LEAVE
How many times have I come to you
How many times have you taken me in
How have you never quite realized
That this will be nothing more than what it's been
Why is it that I return to the scene of the crime
Though there's nothing I need
Between the moments that linger before us
Haven't you wondered why I always leave
Let me
Be who I am
Let me
Leave while I can
You know love don't find
This sort of man
So just let me leave
While I can
How many times have I come to you
Beaten and broken and under attack
How can you look in my eyes and my heart
And not see that there's something I lack
Why is it that I'm as bad as I am
But I know that you'll never believe
Why do you still have to love me
When all I have done is lie and deceive
Let me
Be who I am
Let me
Leave while I can
You know love don't find
This sort of man
So just let me leave
While I Can
Can't give you what you need
And I'm so tired that I can't breathe
And I don't know if you can see,
But my ship is goin' down
And I tried my best to be a man
So I set you free while I still can
Cause I can't seem to change who I am
So just let me
Be who I am
Oh, oh, let me
Leave while I can
You know love don't find
This sort of man
So just let me
Leave while I can

Great post Jen-jen. It was the perfect mixture of music and hormones. Heehee.

He's a mixture of John & Jack with a little Bayou thrown in. I think you'll really like him.
