Half-Nekkid Thursday - Blue Collar Edition #2

I have decided to dedicate another HNT to the blue collar workers of America. I feel so strongly about this issue because I have always been the underdog. I have always had to struggle for the things I've achieved and obtained in my life. There has been a lot of unrest here recently regarding union and non-union job sites. One of the biggest arguments, probably being our proposed basketball arena, which now, instead of being built by union workers, will be built by dirty, corrupt contractors looking to get richer, using non-local workers, not paying them nearly enough, and cutting corners so they can line their own pockets.

I'm just get so sick of seeing the rich get richer and the poor getting poorer. Levelling the playing field would be a huge jumpstart for the local movement. Homeland Security Starts With Job Security.

The Laborers' Union is leading the effort to help rebuild not just New Orleans, but workers' lives, which speaks volumes for their stance on protecting the people. As part of a coalition, the union will operate the New Orleans Workers Center to help train and find jobs for displaced New Orleans residents. That says alot about the organization, in that, it's proof that their main focus is not just about rebuilding communities, but rebuilding the spirit of the men and women who live in those communities.
