Half-Nekkid Thursday - 04.06.06
The tattoo on my leg is the first one I ever got. It's almost 15 years old. As I've told you guys before, all of my tattoos have a deep, personal meaning to me....and this one is no exception. It is of the comedy/tragedy masks. However, I had tragedy put first, because of the period in my life when I got it.
It seems that I started life on my own under a dark cloud that lasted about seven or eight years. The clouds finally parted and I had a nice ten year stretch of peace and harmony.....until last year. Let's all hope and pray that this next dark stretch doesn't last seven or eight years. I don't think you all could take it! LOL
Anyway, HHNT!!!

Happy HNTD... nice tattoo. Pretty cool. I really want one, but I have this thing about needles and not liking them. I will get over it one of these days and get one done up.
Scott: Happy HNT to you too! I'm not going to lie and say that tats don't hurt - because they do. I've always heard that women have a stronger threshold for pain than men. To me, pain is pain, and I'm able to just suck it up. When I got my big one done on my back, it took almost three hours and I remember the guy telling me that he had never had anyone sit through the whole thing without taking a break. He said he'd had men three times my size break down after 45 minutes. Who knows? Many I'm just a toughie! LOL

Scott: I have several and although they tend to burn a bit its not really a needle pain. You dont "see" the needle as much as hear the gun buzz and then it feels like a burning sensation. The outline hurts more because it is generally a bit deeper but when thats done the rest feels like a minor dull headache.
They are addictive though, once you realize the pain isnt so bad.

I got some too and they mark periods in my life as well. It's been a while though and I'm getting ready for another one.
Hand in there, it'll get better, it always does.
