Retirement
INVESTING FOR YOUR RETIREMENT:
If you had purchased $1000.00 of Nortel stock one year ago, it would now be worth $49.00.
With Enron, You would have had $16.50 left of the original $1,000.00.
With WorldCom, you would have had less than $5.00 left.
But, if you had purchased $1,000.00 worth of Beer one year ago, drank all the beer, then turned in the cans for the aluminum recycling REFUND, you would have had $214.00. Based on the above, current investment advice is to drink heavily and recycle.
I call it the: 401-Keg Plan

EJ: You said it girlie!!!
Nice, um can we do a Mostly-nekkid Friday????
Twisty: Down boy! Down! J/K - I'd run out of pictures real fast if I did that! You just have to be patient! LOL ;o)
I agree with Ellen Jay....screw the 401-k - bring on the booze!!
I have friends who were wiped clean on the Enron stock... so sad!
I had another friend who had a friend that worked for Enron, quit, then went to work for Worldcom. After the Worldcom fiasco, he doubted that he would ever get a job anywhere based on his resume. (He was like the kiss of death to any company due to his record... although none of it was his fault.)
401-keg at least sounds like a lot more fun, if nothing else. Investing is so risky. I spoke with my broker the other day, and told him to keep me in the slow growing stuff... I had a better chance of seeing it IF I ever retired. He said that my stocks have grwon 10% over what he expected, even though the market wasn't doing so good. I was one of the luckier ones. (Yay!!)
Squirm: LOL
Ellen: You are soooo right! Investing scares the hell out of me. Even though my personality is extremely risk-taking...I invest much more conservatively. ;o)
Love the plan! I think I may start on that this evening.
Thanks for stopping by my blog. I appreciate the comment.
Look for my Friday question day... it requires reader response.
Cheers,
Scott
Jen - I'll drink to that!

Have a great weekend.

My kind of plan.
Ya know, investing in beer companies doesn't sound like a bad suggestion at all!
Wonder what Budweiser's doin lately...
Scott: Thanks for stopping by. I'll definitely check it out!
Neo: Drink one for me!
Sag Sis: LOL
Snags: I'm sure they're doing pretty good. That's the only beer I drink, so maybe I should invest! ;o)
