Is This Really MY Life?
It just dawned on me last night that I have a life full of regrets. I have no idea what to do about it or where to go from here. I'm only 37 years old, but I'm at that point in my life where I'm starting to panic because NOTHING is the way I want it to be. Am I going to grow old alone? Am I going to regret the fact that I never had a child? I don't want to live my life this way, but I can't control my thoughts or my feelings. I'm sad and I literally just realized that I don't know if I've ever been truly happy. I'm good at holding everything inside and putting a smile on my face, but I'm tired. I just don't know where to go from here.

I think there's a difference between a life of regrets, and a life yet unfulfilled. I'm very much like you, but I've accepted the regrets as part of the past, which I can't change. But many of which have led me to where I am today.
If you want things to be different, you should look at each day as a day that you can do something to improve it, and not waste it away.
Then again, if you weren't looking for advice, but rather just a place to vent, then nevermind... ;-)

Osbasso is right, as are other posters; I'd tell you I know what what it's like to feel like you do, only add 10 years!! It dawned on me, we haven't yet found our audiences, respectfully. their really are people, who like us, people we're better suited to be with, but we settle. I don't know why, but we do.
Regarding the title of your blog, I've been asking myself the same question for 8 years, of a 21 year marriage. I call that doing "hard time".
We're about the same age and are feeling about the same way. Let's both turn it around!

What parent has had that moment of fright when the child who was just at your side is gone? Usually the child has seen something of interest and just gone to investigate, or has gotten separated in a crowd, such as being at a carnival, and although it may only two seconds to locate your child, it feels like two years and when you do find them your heart is racing, your hands are shaking and you don’t know whether to hug them or scold them.
