Bad News

Well kiddies - I took off work early Friday because I had a follow-up appointment. I posted a few weeks ago about an out-patient procedure I had done - and Friday was the day I found out the results. I went to a dermatologist to have a few moles looked at back in December. I really didn't even think anything was wrong - I just figured it was about time I had them looked at. You can never be too precautious right? Well, I went and as soon as the doctor walked in he saw two on my back that he wanted to biopsy. I wasn't really expecting that, but I figured he knew what he was talking about.
Anyway, I go in Friday to get my results - and - BAM! I've got melanoma! Now, I know I shouldn't freak out - there are worse things to have, but one of my really good friends lost a cousin to the same thing - and it's got me down in the dumps! I sure am glad I got a wild hair and decided to go to the doctor for no real reason - at least they caught it in time. Now, I've got to go get them excised and have some other ones looked at. I was really hoping that this was my year - starting off with such bad news doesn't really give me much hope of that - but I guess I should count my blessings and quit whining.
I'm not really in the mood to post, so I'm gonna leave it at that. XO

Sorry ya gotta go through this life-wake-up-call stuff, but like ya said, better now than later, cause that stuff is a fast mover!
I have several friendz who've recovered from the mal-moles recently, n they're alright. At least ya got insurance, whew!

I Wouldn't blame ya flippin about the slicing factor, though.
I've had a few surgeries, n it's really tough waiting to heal up. Tough to do chemo follow-up, though they have much better, lower side-effect drugs now if ya do need it.
I'll add ya to my daily prayer list. Don't worry too much, Jesus is watchin over ya!

Honey, I am SSSOOOOOO sorry to hear what you are going through right now. You do a have bright side though....if you had not have gone, it could have taken your life too!! At least this way, they have caught it in time and you are going to be ok...well as ok as you were before you went to the doctor (j/k - you know I had to tease you!). You have family, friends, Brian, and all us bloggers to help you get through this mess...so start leaning! We're all here for ya. And this could still be your year. Just think 'It's all uphill from here on out' and the year is yours. You're in my prayers. Now, cheer up.....It's going to be ok! =P

I had a gigantic mole removed from the back of my neck... luckily it was normal (not cancerous)... but the procedure was so minimal I didn't feel a thing. As a matter of fact, I had a stiff neck that day, but felt much better when they stuck me with "local", and even returned back to work an hour later. Yours might be more time consuming and tricky, so I do wish you the best and will also add you to my prayers at night.
Take care, sweetie... we are all concerned for you!

Ellen Jay: Thanks for the good thoughts - I'll take em' where I can get em'. ;o)

Ellen: Yeah - I think the next procedure will be about the same as the first - when they biopsied them. I go back on the 25th of January, so keep up the prayers! Thanks a ton! XO

Jen -You're going to fine. I've said a prayer for you, and the weird thing is that my prayers work for other, yet not for me.

We'll be two old geezers standing down at the river drinking beer and fishing. Hang tough buddy. *huggerz*

Jen, you're in my thoughts and prayers today! Melanoma is not the kind of news that anyone wants to get, but I'm glad you caught it early!

Hope everything else is going good chez vous.

I'm glad you caught it early, you'll be ok. Definitely a bummer...my dad and grandfather had it...they're still going strong. Try not to worry too much, sending happy thoughts your way.
